Bossy Wins Calder Memorial Trophy

On June 12, 1978, Mike Bossy became the third Islanders player in five years to win the Calder Trophy. Denis Potvin won in 1974 and Bryan Trottier won in 1976. Bryan Berard won the Calder after his 1993-94 season with the Islanders.

Isles say Bossy was the greatest player ever.

On this day in Isles history....

On this day in 1982 Mike Bossy scores a goal while in mid-air. The Isles win game three of the Stanley Cup Final versus Vancouver 3-0. The New York Islanders go on to win their third straight Stanley Cup with a sweep of the Canucks. What are your top five all-time favourite Islanders' goals?

Isles say number one on your list:

1.) May 24th, 1980, Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 7:11 OT - "…Tonelli to Nystrom, he scores! Bob Nystrom scores the goal; the Islanders win the Stanley Cup."
